Our history

More than a name.
A shared home.

COBACOMAHS began with people who recognised the power of staying connected. What started as a shared desire for fellowship grew into an association where members can support one another, protect a sense of heritage, and contribute to the communities around them.

Its history is written in gatherings, conversations, acts of service, and the willingness of members to take responsibility for the next generation. Each chapter is a reminder that community is not simply inherited—it is actively built.

COBA (Christ the King College Old Boys Association) in Sierra Leone is a distinguished alumni body that unites past students of Christ the King College in Bo, one of the country’s most historic Catholic secondary schools founded in 1954, with the mission of fostering solidarity, supporting education, and contributing to national development. Rooted in the school’s motto “Adveniat Regnum Tuum” (Thy Kingdom Come), COBA embodies values of discipline, unity, and service, while providing a platform for alumni to reconnect, mentor younger generations, and invest in the growth of their alma mater. Over the years, the association has played a pivotal role in rehabilitating infrastructure, donating educational resources, and initiating capacity-building projects that strengthen science, technology, sports, and entrepreneurship at the school. Its membership includes prominent Sierra Leonean leaders in politics, religion, and education, reflecting the college’s legacy of producing influential figures who shape society. Beyond material contributions, COBA emphasizes cultural and spiritual enrichment through annual reunions and celebrations such as the Feast of Christ the King, reinforcing bonds among alumni and current students. Today, COBA stands as both a guardian of tradition and a driver of progress, ensuring that Christ the King College continues to thrive academically, spiritually, and socially, while nurturing future leaders for Sierra Leone and beyond.
